Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

If 4chan disappears, the users wont. They will go somewhere else.

Surely its better to keep the monkeys in the jungle and not force them to move into the cities

  1. They already are everywhere.
  2. Hate doesn't need a home.

Is it a home, or is it more of a self-inflicted prison? I'd rather have them all in one place.

That comment says it better than I can.

If 4chan disappears, the users wont. They will go somewhere else.

Evidence of other online communities show that this will not be the case. The community will splinter into several other forums, key users will leave and nothing will really replace the old forum

That's encouraging to hear.

I guess I'm just a pessimist who thinks these people will never go away. I would love to be proven wrong.

My personal anecdotal half evidences is from following reddits conspiracy and right wing weirdos. From what I've seen, as their silly subreddits get banned, the community does splinter, the user base gets smaller but the new subs that they create usually are worse than the ones that were banned. Though they don't seem to last as long or make as much noise as the original ones, which is obviously good.

I read thinking by thinning them out by spreading them we could shame them off the intent.

But that's wishful thinking I suppose.

If they had shame they'd have disappeared decades ago.
