i'm not going to overpronounce caesar. you ever meet someone who has taken one year of college spanish and that's it and now they roll every L in a spanish word even if it's not supposed to be rolled?

the modern pronunciation is acceptable. language moves.

Sure, no one cares if you mispronounce Caesar, but Caesar would have. Maybe not every Caesar, some of them might have laughed it off, castrated you, and made you a court jester. I don't really know, I've never met any of them.
