My wife, who is super into and out of Firefly fandom is both happy and sad. I don't know how to feel.

I got into it because of her. She hasn't revealed how she feels. Think she's still processing it. I made sure not to say anything until somebody was official because I didn't want to give her an emotional roller coaster

I think that's probably how many feel. Happy that there is something that is new firefly, but sad that it's not live action. Hopefully the one thing will lead to more of the other though, if successful

I think it makes sense, everyone looks visibly older so retroactively putting it before Serenity would be tricky from a marketing perspective, that's why I always wanted them to full cast the audio books, they all still sound great.

That is fair, I'm curious how they'll handle that, if they just recast, or have him be off at an abbey or something, if I remember right, don't they pick Book up from where at the start of Serenity anyway?

The cartoon is supposed to be set in the time between the show and the movie. I'm pretty sure that the plan is to recast.
