March 13, 2026 -- March Madness

  • Brush: Grizzly Bay Shire 26mm V18 Fanchurian
  • Razor: Geneva Cutlery Co. 11/16 Hollow Ground Round Point
  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Shire 2 - Soap
  • Toner: Thayers - Cucumber - Toner
  • Aftershave: House of Mammoth - Shire 2 - Splash

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

I chose to support House of Mammoth in today's March Madness shave, and this was also a test shave; testing an edge that was created using Japanese slurry stones (nagura) on a Mottled Grey Vermont slate finishing stone. I found that creating an edge in this manner does feel like a Jnat edge when shaving.

Shire is a nice scent. I haven't tried Shire 2. Any big difference?

I don’t know. I missed Shire 1.
