To find protests that will happen near you, check out this map:

Or this one:

If you can, try to make connections with others attending who you can contact for gatherings, community mutual aid, or ICE sightings.

The protests themselves will not achieve change, but they are useful for other reasons, such as making connections with mutual aid groups and unions, slowly radicalizing liberals, and showing to others that there are large groups of people who share their concerns, making others more willing to speak up themselves, which was a big problem in Germany during the rise of the Nazi party.

The protests are just one tool in a much larger tool belt, and yes, if none of the other tools are used in conjunction, then the protests are futile, but if used effectively, they are quite useful.

Have the last 4 protests:

  • Made connections with mutual aid groups and unions
  • Radicalizing liberals
  • Activated the other tools are used in conjunction for functional protest

None of those besides union membership have recorded metrics you can measure (though coincidentally, Union membership does appear to be increasing, though how much the protests contributed would only be possible to ascertain with data to see if there was a spike any time after the protests).

There were mutual aid groups with tables handing out flyers and talking to people at my protests (a couple of which even I wasn't even aware of in my area, so quite a good find), and there were many union members out in force, multiple asked me about a general strike after I handed out my own flyers which discussed its importance with a link of how to prepare for one, and how the UAW was planning one, which I think were useful discussions.

Can you prove that none of those things occur in any capacity at any of the last protests? I'm not going to dispute that it'd be great if that was happening at a much greater scale, but what is happening at them is still meaningful.

What did you think of the video's take in the first link in my previous comment?
