How it feels as an Aussie...

I literally had the worst pain of my life a few weeks ago, I got sunburned on about 30% of my body. I later applied some cream I think I was allergic to. I started screaming in agony and needed to go to the hospital. I was waiting for two fucking hours and all they gave me were two paracetamol pills.

I had to beg a nurse to give me SOMETHING for the pain. She gave me ONE tiny oxycodone pill.

It did nothing so I thrashed about for what felt like a half hour, screaming my head off, before they came back to inject me with something.

At this point I'm thinking "FINALLY, THE CALVARY HAS ARRIVED! MORPHIIIINNNNEEE!"

Nope. It was a sedative to stop me hyperventilating and screaming. It didn't stop the pain at all. It just made me feel dirty and disassociated.

My medical record is squeaky clean, it should've been obvious that even if I was there to get high, I was heavily burned and in need of pain relief.

Fucking nanny state. If I want to do morphine then give me morphine for fuck sake. It's not abuse if I legitimately need it.
