Libright Robin Hood:

Actually a rich noble
Sells the goods he steals
Cutthroat competition with other (but legal, unlike him) merchant competition
Competes and wins an archery contest for a massive prize that he doesn't actually need (numbers go up)
Eventually uses corruption in the government to escape all consequences of his lawbreaking
