Explanation: Rumors abounded about the behavior of the Emperor Tiberius at his private estate in Capri, where no one was allowed to contact him. Some of the rumors were quite... lurid, and involved children.

There is a certain parallel to made here with current events - though I would note that the accusations against Tiberius were much less substantiated than the ones floated against the current US president.
