Ali’s freaking out right now, lol. But for real, these fighters could unionize but they’ve probably got managers (and their promotions) telling them they’ll make more without a union. Yea, some guys will but all fighters signed to top flight organizations deserve a mandatory minimum for getting on the scales at the agreed upon weight. There also need to be accommodations for cancellations, etc. but the point still stands.
I’m not saying everybody needs a million dollars a fight. Jake Paul said (FML can’t believe I’m quoting him, but…) each fighter should get $50k and I think that’s pretty fair. They also should be offered a shared medical plan, but that can only happen via a union
