It’s not that I’m anti bean. I know beans are popular as “protein sources” but black beans have a 3:1 ratio of carbohydrates to protein. I’d consider them a source of carbs first for most people. Beans are a better source of protein than the new wave of protein-washed foods for example protein Doritos, or some “protein bars” that are like 20g protein 100g carbs 15g fat and it’s all mystery highly processed mystery ingredients.

Probably still a cheaper source of protein and if it’s not salted in a can probably a lot healthier overall too
