Newsom is not a good dude. It’s just that the bar is so fucking low in US politics these days, there are a lot of people who look at him and think he’s not half bad. But make no mistake - he’s a neoliberal corporatist, and is lately trying to ham-fistedly lean into populism. Huge “how do you do, fellow kids” vibes.
Accurate, live in the area and I've noticed he guts any protections & laws as soon as his corporate sponsors say anything. He's a useless wet paper towel trying to impersonate a seatbelt.
