Flippanarchy
Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.
Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.
This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.
Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

Telling on themselves, aren’t they?
We were right about Kamala.
brattykat is being sardonic there
On one layer.
Maybe the OP didn’t intend it, but you can also read the fictional liberal as being unable to imagine a democratic candidate that isn’t genocidal.
I mean, Carter (East Timor), Clinton (Rwanda), Obama (Yemen), Biden (Gaza). Shit, you can even lump FDR in. He knew about the concentration camps.
Sorry, libs. These folks may not have pulled the trigger but they supplied (or withheld) the means to carry out (or prevent) mass suffering.
I still vote blue because of the state I'm in, but it can be very, very difficult a lot of the time. America is a deeply unethical nation. I tend to follow Trot-turned-Catholic Alasdair MacIntyre in how I view voting (though I don't agree with his specific examples): https://chamberscreek.net/library/macintyre/macintyre2004vote.html
How exactly does not voting go against the system? It is broadcasting to the politicians that your opinions aren't important. The system doesn't worry that voter participation is low, it relishes it. The fewer people that vote, the easier they are to manipulate. To the extent politicians care about opinion polls, they care much more about those of "likely voters".
There are ways to change the system. Not voting isn't one of them. Voting is compatible with all of them. Voting is going to be critical to some of them.
So that guy thinks morality is cooked. And if morality is cooked our politics are pretty cooked because we have no way to put into action what we think are moral aims. Here's an article from jackoffbin from a guy who tried to synthesize liberalism and socialism. I think he teaches at Spellman now, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, he'd probably say we need to set up entirely new social relations outside of our two party system (and capitalism which both parties support) because neither party has a coherent idea of what human flourishing entails.
But vote until you cum, I don't give a shit.
I'm tired and this instance is making me feel schizophrenic. Disengaging or whatever now ✌️.
Is there a nongenocidal Democrat?
