Are these any good? I've read books by a few writers last year who seem to churn out 3-4 books a year, and reading them you can tell they didn't spend time proof reading or developing the plot.
As with any genre, some authors are stronger than others. There's a lot of trash, but there's some really good stuff as well. Dungeon Crawler Carl, for example, has my highest recommendation.
I like DCC, but Matt Dinniman doesn't seem to publish three books a year, where RinoZ does. I should've clarified I was worried about the quantity vs quality.
Gotcha. I apologize, I thought you were asking about the genre in general, not RinoZ specifically.
I haven't read his main series, Chrysalis, yet, but it's pretty consistently ranked as one of the best in the genre. For Book of the Dead, I haven't noticed any story or worldbuilding issues that typically accompanies rushed projects. It's pretty well put together, barring a comic relief character with a juvenile sense of humor and the occasional typo.
