Rules (2024-08-30)

  1. This is an English-language community. Comments should be in English. Posts can link to non-English news sources when providing a full-text translation in the post description. Automated translations are fine, as long as they don't overly distort the content.
  2. No links to misinformation or commercial advertising. When you post outdated/historic articles, add the year of publication to the post title. Infographics must include a source and a year of creation; if possible, also provide a link to the source.
  3. Be kind to each other, and argue in good faith. Don't post direct insults nor disrespectful and condescending comments. Don't troll nor incite hatred. Don't look for novel argumentation strategies at Wikipedia's List of fallacies.
  4. No bigotry, sexism, racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, dehumanization of minorities, or glorification of National Socialism. We follow German law; don't question the statehood of Israel.
  5. Be the signal, not the noise: Strive to post insightful comments. Add "/s" when you're being sarcastic (and don't use it to break rule no. 3).
  6. If you link to paywalled information, please provide also a link to a freely available archived version. Alternatively, try to find a different source.
  7. Light-hearted content, memes, and posts about your European everyday belong in other communities.
  8. Don't evade bans. If we notice ban evasion, that will result in a permanent ban for all the accounts we can associate with you.
  9. No posts linking to speculative reporting about ongoing events with unclear backgrounds. Please wait at least 12 hours. (E.g., do not post breathless reporting on an ongoing terror attack.)
  10. Always provide context with posts: Don't post uncontextualized images or videos, and don't start discussions without giving some context first.

(This list may get expanded as necessary.)

Posts that link to the following sources will be removed

Unless they're the only sources, please also avoid The Sun, Daily Mail, any "thinktank" type organization, and non-Lemmy social media (incl. Substack). Don't link to Twitter directly, instead use xcancel.com. For Reddit, use old:reddit:com

(Lists may get expanded as necessary.)

Ban lengths, etc.

We will use some leeway to decide whether to remove a comment.

If need be, there are also bans: 3 days for lighter offenses, 7 or 14 days for bigger offenses, and permanent bans for people who don't show any willingness to participate productively. If we think the ban reason is obvious, we may not specifically write to you.

If you want to protest a removal or ban, feel free to write privately to the primary mod account @EuroMod@feddit.org

Yet your elected officials are trying to force a digital ID through Zionist Larry Ellisons company Oracle onto the EU populace so it’s a little hard to believe they are going to do anything to challenge the powers that be.

Could you say the same thing minus the antissemitism? Of course, but wouldn't be the same, would it?

A religion is not a country. If a country is based on extermination and apartheid of people who do not meet their ethnic and religious requirements that country is in the wrong. Zionism is not representative of a religion anymore than nazism is representative of people who have a genetics tied to Germany. If you were against Nazi ideology are you against Germans? Your argument makes no sense and your claim that criticism of war crimes of a country following a very dangerous ideology are representative of an entire religion is offensive and I know for a fact that a lot of the Jewish community vocally does not not appreciate your argument or want to be tied to the toxic ideology of Zionism.

Your ideology seems to be the destruction of the only country with a Jewish majority, but sure, it's not antisemitic, you just hate this one country by chance, from the several countries at war with weaker enemies just happened to fall on this one, that you want erased.

A country that seeks an ethnostate or claims a fundamentalist state identity based upon religion that seeks to apartheid and dehumanize anyone who doesn’t meet their standards of genetic or ideological purity is very bad. I don’t want to live in a country that practices fundamentalism and supremacy of religion as historically that is very directly associated with gross human rights abuses. The extremist interpretation religious texts that Israel is choosing to honor with the ideology of Zionism is just as bad as the ideology that Germany followed in WW2 that justified the systematic extermination of a scapegoated people based on pseudoscientific superior race ideology. This entitlement to extermination of a group of indigenous people to establish an ethnostate is inherently evil

Israel is a multicultural state with a far right government now, just like the US or Italy. If you don't know the reality of Israel stop spreading ignorant hate online against it. You sound like a nazi obsessed with Jews.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

Yet you are the one defending a genocide

Bringing up Zionism on a discussion about payment solutions in the European Union shows an unhealthy obsession with the topic.. so yeah, bringing this kind of topic into this discussion is an assured sign of someone obsessing with the Jews... Get real man.

The ongoing genocide, the corrupt technocratic city being built on the bodies of children in Gaza, The fact that Epstein and Ghisline were Mossad and trafficking children to the most powerful people in our governments and the FACT that these mass surveillance technologies were being used to target people like aid workers and journalists in Gaza kinda proves that this Israel issue is the moral test of our time and I find it pretty cowardly of Israel to hide behind religion to justify the atrocities that they are committing around the globe. I don’t really like any religion, I am very anti racist and I have Jewish people in my family who are anti Zionist so your feeble attempt at labeling me antisemetic falls flat. Bye Felicia

"I even have friends", right. You sound very much like a nazi though, over and out

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

It’s ridiculous to say that me saying i literally have Jewish family close blood relatives that are antizionist is the same level of racism as claiming I have a non existent black friend. Also I’m not a white supremisist so you just sound like the modern version of a Nazi = Zionist= you

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

You sound like a Zionist who is defending a genocide
