When I search "random damage no man's sky" it feels like people encounter crazy damage bugs that can even follow them into their ships. I wanna play permadeath with my best friend online. We've never had this problem while together but who knows what triggers it.
I hate to say it but I restored my save from a backup today and will probably restore for every time my own death doesn't make any sense :/
Most multiplayer games have bugs.
I honestly wouldn't suggest perma death mode playing online.
Ive logged about 600 hours in nms. There have been many encounters where I was killed by weird bugs or something.
More than once I died while trying to fly a ship into my freighter or into the nexus or even a space station. It would get caught on something and then just sit there. Stuck. Taking damage until I died.
Very frustrating.
But these kind of things happen.
Perma death is a big risk.
I don't know if you are aware of the full scope of the main story and side missions that unlock your ability to use the star gate. To get all the cool gear.
That takes a hell of a long time to unlock.
Like. To complete all of the current quests , I would say probably 60 plus hours.
Just to unlock all the things.
Perma death.- I don't see the appeal for a game like this.
You so take a penalty with death as it is.
Maybe that should be enough motivation to not die. ?
I just personally wouldn't risk it but people play the game differently. And maybe it fits your gameplay more than it does mine.
I mostly just do the missions, expeditions, and like building stuff.
But you said already you are restoring old saves when you die.
So why are you even playing in perma death ? Like what is the value if you are just going to restore a save when you die. ?
My last permadeath save got deleted. I didn't think to restore it nor did I do so because it was clear I has gotten myself killed fairly. I let it go and started again. I honestly started Perma because it was too easy to load an older save on survival. At least on Perma I have to go to the effort of digging out an old backup. I just want the most meaningful session I can get. Being killed by bugs honestly should not count.
I wish it didn't require discipline because I do see myself just going back to my survival save the next time a bug kills me
Well the nice thing about the game is it can be tailored to almost any game style.
