The date in the image says this is from over 7 years ago, on 2018-07-27

Good point, I did not look very closely. I wonder if they're still active there though, a crazy number of people and institutions are.

[–] bamboo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 6 days ago

I assume that most institutions that are still active are only active to promote themselves, and mirroring the same content from instagram to X, and not actually engaging with the fans like in the early days of Twitter.

You're greatly overestimating the general public's knowledge of Musk.

A lot of these are more than general public, they're institutions, corporations, organizations, and people who should (and probably do) know better.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Right, they go where the people are.

where the people are

They went from 429 million to 250 million in under a year, I would challenge that assumption.

Additionally, a Nazi bar is still a fucking Nazi bar. I don't see why anyone should look favorably on that, do you?

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Do you not think 250 million people is a lot?

I think you're dodging an ugly fucking question and chose to ignore that the amount of users almost halved. I think you're maybe not arguing in good faith, so I'm going to discontinue this conversation. Have a good day!

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Ok, but even with losing nearly half of their users they still have a very large user base, and companies go to where the users are. Plus, it's not like Twitter is the only platform they advertise on.

You're arguing in bad faith because you're arguing like this is a justification rather than a reason why, despite me saying it wasn't a justification.

It's still a bar run by a Nazi, i.e. a Nazi bar, even if many of the customers are ignorant.

[–] village604@adultswim.fan 0 points 5 days ago

That wasn't a justification, just a reason why people still use it.
