I've never liked to take opiates of any kind. My go-to for pain is "Poor Man's Percocet:" 2 Ibuprofen (Advil), and 1 Acetaminophen (Tylenol). If the pain is really bad, you can double them, but don't take them more than every 6-8 hours.

The Ibuprofen is metabolized by the kidneys, and the Acetaminophen is metabolized by the liver, so neither one overwhelms your organs, and the effect together is far better than the individual effects alone, and I've actually heard multiple doctors say that it approaches the efficacy of an opiate, without the addictive dangers.

I have a very physical job, and at the end of the day, I can sometimes feel almost broken, and this works great for me.

I got harder stuff for a back injury, and fuck no thanks. I stuck with a max-dose Tylenol+Advil stack and hot packs and cursing.

The benefits of the baby morphine was just not worth all the side effects. I'll stick to the stack and some rest, thanks.
