It is not cannibalism! They god is a donkey, so eating their god is like eating asine!
[Context: plenty Romans falsely believed that Jews, and Christians by extension, worshipped donkeys. This misconception was even featured in graffiti like this one (from the second century CE):
It says "Αλεξαμενος σεβετε Θεον", or "Alexamenos worshibz God" — a crucified donkey.
I'm led to believe the Romans didn't invent this association between Jews/Christians and donkeys, they got it from the Egyptians. Being potentially older than the Christians. Or than the foundation of Rome.]
