Fyi, if you ever want to tint wood like that again, leather dye works REALLY well. I used the Angelus stuff on my guitar, and it is really nice to work with.
You can't say that and not show us the result! What color did you use for your guitar?
I did a greenburst. I think that I used 3 different greens to get there but its been a few years now. I wish I could have gotten the poly flatter on it but its good enough for a first try.
The tutorial I followed was from BigDGuitars on youtube.
Damn, that looks great. Did you have to take it apart to apply the dyes?
Thanks! It was a new build so I did the finish work on it after doing a "dry" build first to make sure the fit was okay with the parts. Then I dyed it, sprayed poly, and assembled it again.
