80% the people on TT, YT and IG are there to follow content creators that are only on those platforms to make money.
Until creators can easily make money on Fediverse platforms, they'll always play second fiddle to closed platforms that market and share profits, no matter how crappy the returns are.
Then we can get new creators and a new kind of community.
Something different, can still grow and be beautiful.
checks the age of peertube and the almost complete lack of interesting content
is it gonna start soon? It's almost a decade old and there's nothing interesting at all outside of a couple Linux people.
I totally get your point. I want to like it too, but so far the only channels that I've found worth following are Veronica Explains and The Linux Experiment, and even then, Veronica doesn't post very often. I was also following a comics channel but they faded away.
Recording, Editing and Posting video is exhausting. Assume that you get your donations in order from whatever service, you can then post it on yourube and get a extra pittance, or post it on peertube and get nothing, you'll have to have some other reason to give up the pittance.
Hell, there's more non-rightwing content on odysee than there is on peertube.
