Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- AI-generated comics aren't allowed.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

Sure, some people have been upset already. But the difference in volume before and after the most recent killings shows that quite a lot of people are just now getting upset. If that isn't you, good, but then why are you acting like this comic is a personal attack on you?
There's always an increase in volume after an incident like this. The more visible it is, the greater the increase.
If you're upset about an increase in momentum, then you're kinda shooting the movement in the foot and that makes me question what your intentions are. Maybe you simply haven't thought it through; I'm not gonna assume you're a bad-faith actor planted to disrupt the resistance on so little evidence.
The problem is that this comic paints with a very broad brush, and it kinda leaves any white person who's been actively protesting with no choice but to say "Well fuck me, then."
Again, if your reaction to a comic pointing out that these atrocities have gone on longer than just the two latest killings is to take it personally and get defensive over it, if your reaction is "Well fuck me, then", I think that says more about you than it does about the comic.
I'm simply pointing out that people have been aware of the problem and upset about it for a long time. But that's inconvenient to the narrative you're trying to push, so you keep ignoring it whenever I mention that.
The problem with the comic isn't that it pointed out that there have been more than just two murders. The problem is that it painted an entire race of people (who have diverse worldviews and opinions) with the same broad brush, and uses that generalization to create a strawman argument, i.e. "white people don't care when non-whites get murdered," and you continue to refuse to acknowledge that not only is that counter-factual, but it's also counter-productive (and racist).
And then you not-so-subtly insinuate that I must be racist if I have a problem with it? You're so transparent.
That isn't what I said.
It's called subtext, and it's not subtle.
You're just going out of your way to assume the most bad faith interpretations you can think of for everything.
I seriously think you need to do some introspection about why this makes you react this way.
I don't need to go very far out of my way to tell that this post is clearly directing some racially-charged micro-aggressions towards white people, but if you're so stuck in your worldview that white people can never be done wrong and it's okay to treat them in all the ways that you yourself would never tolerate being treated, then I guess we're not going to find any middle ground...
Lol, fucking fragile white people man...
If people getting upset about others making generalizations about their race is being "fragile," then I don't want to hear a fucking soul complaining about racism when it's directed at them.
Imagine if someone in 2020 said "lol, fucking fragile black people man..."
Cause that's exactly what you're doing. But I don't expect you to have any self-awareness, because you're probably ideologically committed to the bit where it's impossible to be racist against white people.
Get fucked with your white victim complex, dude.
You're all over this damn post going red in the face not understanding what exactly folks are talking about here. Or just not caring.
The US has a systemic racism problem. By extension, white people within the US are in a visibly privileged position. To deny this is... I don't know, something fucking else.
So you can, hopefully, understand when POCs vent their frustration from time to time when the needle of political will in this country seems to only ever shift when enough white people are caught in the blowback. Hell, white allies fucking realize this.
Lastly, get your head out of your ass. This comic isn't even that abrasive with the truths that it reveals. You're just thin-skinned.
"Get fucked with your white victim complex. White people are so fragile. White people this, white people that" You're sure displaying a lot of open hatred for white people for someone claiming white people can never be done wrong. I guess hypocrisy and double standards are okay for anyone who isn't white?
As much as I hate JD Vance and am reluctant to back anything that he says, you're kind of proving his point about the whole "White people shouldn't have to apologize for being white" thing.
I never denied that systemic racism or white privilege exist, but attacking individual white people for the original sin of having fair complexion is not dismantling systemic racism, and white privilege isn't some absolute thing that transcends social class.
Everyone defending this comic has been doing so by distorting any arguments against it into strawmen by misrepresenting what people are saying in criticism of it. Your comment is no different.
How do you rectify that statement with the enormous turn-out to the BLM protests in 2020? Or are you just going to continue to ignore any facts that contradict what you're saying?
How do you explain the enormous No Kings protests that happened before Renee Good or Alex Pretti were murdered?
You're not going to have any white allies left if you keep calling them racist every time they protest after a white person gets murdered by the feds.
You get your head out of your ass. It's not abrasive to you because you aren't white. That's the same logic as a white person saying a comic mocking BLM "isn't even that abrasive." You're incapable of hearing and considering other people's perspective, so I don't want to hear you complaining about how supposedly callous white people are when literally millions of white people have been quietly listening to the perspectives if POCs for at least half a decade now, and getting called racist if they even chime in with the slightest input or nuance.
Am I thin-skinned? Then maybe you're being thin-skinned if you're so upset about white people protesting. See how that works? How easy it is to attack someone's character based solely on them being a different race from yourself? If you don't like it happening to you, then don't do it to others. Otherwise you're just normalizing racism. If you're saying it's okay for literally anyone but white people to be racist, then your same logic can be used by white people to justify being racist. That's the thing about double-standards: they're not binding because they're not universalizable.
If you want this whole thing to be a race war, just say so. But if it's about ordinary civilians against a fascist government, then stop holding people's fucking skin color against them.
I guess it's too much to expect you to do any introspection, when you can always just blame white people for everything
Also not what I said.
