the tools of oppression can't destroy oppression
they can only put the lid on it for a little while
Violent aggressors only respond to force. A unified front can be a show of force. Non-Violent protest does not mean peaceful. Sabotage is non-violent. Destruction of the tools of the oppressed is non-violent. Regardless of what the law says, property damage is not a violent act.
