The people piling in these comment threads to sow violence are not even americans, what makes you think that they care about one faction or another. They just want chaos.

Every country that uses social media bots is headed by a dictator who benefits from chaos in the US. Until proven otherwise, I'm assuming that anyone calling for violence is aligned with the bot army.

nah dude, I want americans to stop this shit before they invade my country and I have to defend myself

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world -1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Could you want that from a distance, possibly tending to the far right in your own country and not interfere?

Even if you mean well, you are stiring up the exact evil that you want to avoid for yourself.

The States have the authority to prosecute these people for their crimes and even if you don't think that they will face any investigation at a federal level, there is no statute of limitations on murder and a host of other crimes.

Demanding that this be solved tomorrow is not constructive because it is not possible. There are processes in place, that are outside of the control of the executive office, to handle an out of control Executive (and Judicial) branches.

Congress has the real governmental power in the US Government. Congress can impeach and remove a President. Congress can impeach and remove a Supreme Court Justice. Congress can cut off funding for Executive operations.

That all depends on people in Congress being willing to do their jobs. Unfortunately, we have a bunch of sycophants who's role in this fiasco is to paralyze Congress in order to prevent it from acting. Those sycophants can lose control of congress in the upcoming mid-terms if people actually vote.

If you want to help, stop pouring gasoline on the fire of flashpoint issues and start looking at the upcoming election. If you're just here to stir shit, then kindly fuck off.

I can try to do both.

if your suggestion is to vote yourself out of it, then kindly fuck off

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You're right, I'm an idiot. Voting doesn't work.

Tell us the plan, then, what should we do?

Don't be a coward lay out the violence that you want to see us do to one another.

I guarantee you that if this devolves into violence and the fascists are able to use that to skip elections then you will be part of the 51st state, dead in an air strike or hunted down and killed while being labeled a 'terrorist' on the news based on your social media posts.

stop tolerating the intolerant

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ok, done.

Trump is still in office.

Next step?

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

go back to step one and try it again

simply getting people to vote is not enough. you have to get rid of a bunch of the votes for fascism, not just add more votes against them.

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh ok, so how do we 'get rid' of them?

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

get vocal and change their minds. don't tolerate their bullshit.

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It sounds like you opposed that plan not 6 comments ago:

if your suggestion is to vote yourself out of it, then kindly fuck off

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 days ago

there is an important distinction: getting rid of the intolerant

this can't be fixed by just adding the other third of voters to oppose it. 1/3 of the voting population supporting this is still too high for it to go away.
