Unless you get, literally, tens of millions in the streets the Nazis will just wait it out. Then it will intensify.
Yeah everyone should do nothing....
We should do something big instead of spending 20 minutes haphazardly throwing together an afternoon with posters and calling it a general strike.
We need to plan a real, actual shutdown a few weeks out so we can make sure individuals can prepare to survive the strike while we wreck the economy.
The biggest problem we are facing with a general strike is that there aren't enough people that can easily put their life on hold without sacrificing everything they have. People keep screaming "general strike!" to a bunch of people that live paycheck to paycheck. The best we can do is get the ball rolling right now for those that can't.
Personally I'm just sick of apathy at this point. Of course this general strike will not be enough. Doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.
Appeasement of the establishment is what got Americans to this point. The only way out it to do something that they haven't done before. From what many Americans post, their lives are already on perma hold.
This is the easiest thing in the world for someone to say, but it's totally different if you wouldn't have money for rent, or medication or food if you lose your job. If you have kids to care for who might suffer for your actions.
I have a medication that prevents me from dying a painful slow death. Any damage I take while waiting for medicaid to kick in is permanent. My daughter has autism and adhd. I'm hours away from family.
Let's say I wasn't the lucky one who has savings, that's a hell of a situation to gamble with. I'm willing to not spend and my kid has already been pulled for homeschooling for her safety since we're not white. I'm not even sure what an invalid and a kid are gonna do at a protest
Neither of you are wrong. This isn't going away until a lot of people do something different.
And a lot of people are in your situation - they don't have the power to do anything, even if they wanted to.
The answer is just that before this goes away, it's going to get a lot worse first.
You must have never seen these dickheads recoil over stock fluctuations day after day. They care about their pockets and they care about your pockets. You think stupid doesn't react first. You think the sleepy right won't have something to cry about immediately? They cry over words and ideas, actions really scare them, that's why they cry about weaponry in their culture void.
This one may not do anything but it’s a start. This is the first general strike we’ve had in decades.
Yeah tomorrow is not exactly the best day to go out in the streets. There’s a massive winter storm rolling in that’ll shutdown most of the country. Minneapolis, St. Paul and the rest of the Midwest will be seeing temperatures plunge down into the negative 40s. That’s mild frostbite in minutes in you are well bundled up, if your not you will get severe frostbite in minutes. Severe frostbite is no joke either, that will easily cost you a limb if you are lucky, your life if you’re unlucky. We are gonna happily stay the fuck inside tomorrow.
Right, if you just buy double the day after, it meant nothing. My idea is to coordinate one big entity at a time. Target can survive one day, but not one whole quarter if we cancel them hard. Then we move on to the next shithead company.
