You got the world in this mess. You voted a criminal pedophile dictator into office, twice.

Honestly after decades of ego and exceptionalism, this demand that other people fix issues they've caused themselves is pretty on-brand for the US

The most aggravating thing is they've polarised themselves into thinking any outside force refusing to "fix it" is being sanctimonious.
Nah fam. this is something you've built from the ground up and entrenched into your culture, so you have to fix it. Outside forces imposing will end up with another iraq. (Or afghanistan. Or libya. Or Iran. ). Hell, even Germany was headed towards burying its cat turds until niemoller & co grassrooted the idea of collective guilt to come to terms with their crimes.

I find it incredibly disheartening that even on this platform, your comment got five downvotes so far.
I mean, I get it, not everyone voted for him. My comment is bold and harsh. But on the other hand, it's not our responsibility to deal with their dictator. Of course I'm willing to help, and unlike the US without oil deals or for anything else. I'm willing to help and support refugees, people who are a victim of this regime. I can't change their system or do anything else I'm afraid. But I also think them doing nothing but complain is also not going to change anything. They aren't fighting for their rights in a democracy anymore, protesting isn't going to cut it if the regime doesn't care about the law and constitution, and doesn't recognize the judicial system whenever they feel like it. My grandparents and great grandparents joined the resistance during the second World War. I'm afraid the US is running out of effective legal, democratic options soon to fight the current regime and dictator.
It's not just that the people downvoting you are too comfortable to fight back, it's that by the virtue of being born in positions of extreme privilege (by worldwide and historical standards) they literally cannot conceive of a world where rights are acquired and retained through illegal or violent means, although every civil rights movement had an illegal and most often violent component to it.
There's a reason we're seeing pictures of Black Panthers patrolling the streets. They remember and understand that rights aren't handed out by benevolent elites, they are acquired through violence - either direct acts thereof, or the explicit threat of it.
I honestly don't know what to do about any of that. The task of educating Americans on the history of effectively protesting against authoritarianism seems impossible. For all that some aspects of their society are hyper-violent, the vast majority of the anti-MAGA crowd is astonishingly uninformed on the importance of unauthorized resistance, and all the major newspapers and social media platforms are actively suppressing attempts to correct those misconceptions.
It's fascinating. Trump is following in Hitler's footsteps closer than anyone could have predicted, but one area where the present differs from the past is that in the years before Hitler became chancellor, Germany was rocked by frequent acts of deadly violence between Brownshirts and Communists. However I cannot think of a single analogue for the 21st century. Some people on here are talking of Civil War - clearly out of their ass, but I'm not sure that there is a line that Trump or Vance could yet cross that would trigger acts of blue-on-red violence more notable than an average British football match.
While I empathize with the sentiment, I've been listening to A People's History of the United States lately. My takeaway so far is that change is only allowed to happen by the monied interests that control our government when it becomes in their financial interest for it to happen.
Guns won't do it. Civilians 1) can't effectively opposed state violence with the arms and organization they're allowed, 2) our society is violent enough that killing civilians opposing the government will always be sanctioned by some.
Typically American to say "we can't do anything, we're helpless, yes we have guns but they aren't good enough". History shows it's totally possible to rise up against tyrants, even when they seem invincible and untouchable, and force a radical change benefitting all. Luigi showed everyone it's possible. Everyone says they support him but no one dares what he did. If no one does anything, everyone is just complying with a fascist dictatorship. So far only Republicans tried to change things, by attempting to shoot Trump and killing Charley Kirk. The rest just continues to use billionare's products, making them even richer and giving them even more power. All while complaining they hate it and can't do anything.

It's to rise up against a tyrannical government. THIS is the moment. All those people, including kids, have died during school shootings, accidents, gun violence, etc. to safeguard the right to have guns. It was all collateral damage, apparently all worth it, in case a rise against the government was necessary.
The entire world thinks it's crazy to give up so much safety, to risk your life and of your children, for a hypothetical situation in which it's necessary to rise up against the government. Now that this situation is created by themselves, they ask the rest of the world to intervene?
This is beyond the level of Idiocracy, because in that movie at least they listen to the smart guy.
The argument that your little piss ant semi auto AR-15 is going to do anything against a tyrannical government that can just predator drone your house has always been bullshit. They just like their toys and don't give a fuck about children dying.
An AR15 works fine for kneecapping ICE agents though. And yes, kneecapping, I'm against killing. Let them suffer in a wheelchair without benefits for the rest of their lives, as the regime doesn't give a fuck about sick and handicapped people. They'll probably die in a camp as they aren't useful workers, if the US continues the nazi Germany road.

Do you mean like that time you sat on the sidelines for three years of war and startes to act only when it looked like Germany might win Mexico over to attack you guys and you guys got scared of submarine war?
Or do you mean that time you sat on side lines for two years and started to act only when Japan sank some of your ships?
Or are you talking about the Vietnam or Korean wars that went so swimmingly?
Or the dozen military conflict after those that has only succeeded making middle east more unstable?
Or the more recent where you kidnapped a president from a neighboring country?

Since the second World War, the US is the country who keeps invading other countries the most. Next time my country is being invaded, the chance it's the US is the most likely. So please, keep it in mind before invading another country, and stop it from happening in the first place. And don't act like the US helps when a country is in need. It only helps if it profits oil, minirals, shady trade deals, etc. or does a dick measuring contest with someone else.
And if you're rusty on your history, let me remind you: only the US has invoked NATO article 5, no other country ever did. We don't need the US help, we need the US not to become the issue.
