"Star Trek seemed to say it wasn't good enough that the real world was such an insane contradiction, with prejudice being instantly transmitted across the planet by fiber-optic cables. Cavemen taken great distances by things they could never have created themselves. We were kinda halfway to Star Trek in 20[26]. We had the ships, but not the crew."
