My issue with that is that I would like getting the raw deal once in a while to not stay uninformed, something like multiple custom filters would be cool. All we have right now is the subscribed list and the All list, which is filtered. Would be nice to have several filter lists.
No one is getting uninformed! Especially when tv, internet and people speak about USA and Trump 24/7. It hardly to miss any of that, except if you live in the mountains with no internet or tv.
I don't watch tv, I get my news from Lemmy and my friends don't talk about USA.
But I don't watch TV and Lemmy IS my Internet these days.
People in my friends group stopped posting news stuff because they assume everyone's seen everything already lol
Same, I have a similar conundrum. Everytime I go longer than a few days without checking US news some unspeakable shit goes down. Like a dictator getting kidnapped.
The constant battle between wanting to stay informed and the urge to live peacefully as an off-grid mountain man lol

ever since Donald Trump became the president of the USA, i have heard from irl people or news that: the "arrest" of Venezuelas president, threats to conquer Greenland, the US vice president being mad about my country banning a russian supported fascist from being a candidate, Israel funding and support and thats it i think
though it does make sense considering i dont really have a way to affect the USA and all of those things are about international events
