To an extent, yes, but it has gotten much worse recently.

The 'fascism is colonialism turned inward' is only good in that it criticizes fascism... but I think it's wrong. Colonialism is about taking someone else's land, and while fascism includes colonialism a lot of the time, I think fascists are just sadists and sex weirdos who turn their inclinations into politics. That is what fascists accuse Leftists of, so I figure that must be what they are, right?
