Yes, because it's already dead and in the process of decaying, which promotes the growth of bacteria using it as a food source.
Because it releases ethylene gas which speeds up ripening, this is also how unripe fruit gets transported across the world then “ripened” before hitting the grocery shelf

Choking on it but not choosing to huff them, unless you turn into a cop the cop has wont mess with you
You sure? When one way's a dead end, but other works, how many would refuse to walk it because it reeks?

We're people. The job doesn't matter, we're still people. If the jobs switch roles, we'll still be people. Whatever job it may be, people are the ones doing them.
