I already transferred to Qobuz, but feels weird that they threaten people leaving with losing their libraries.

This would suck for people who only wish to temporarily cancel.

They rely on you thinking this, it’s a blackmail tactic. Use a service to export all the libraries out.

Good luck with Qobuz. I moved. I found it average unfortunately due to clunky interface, drop outs and it drops my Bluetooth all the time. I use my music a lot in the car I can’t keep stopping to deal with this stuff.

I’m gonna start self hosting.

I bounced from Spotify to Qobuz to Tidal. Spotify is so unethical I had to leave. Qobuz was missing a significant portion of my library and the interface had too many issues. I was happy on Tidal for a while, then I found out they dropped about 10% of the music from my favorites list without telling me or keeping a record of what songs were missing.

Can’t really talk about it on Lemmy though because the self-hosting crowd is very aggressive here, and “I don’t want to play music I downloaded because constant new music discovery is important to me” is an unacceptable answer.

Yeh I dropped Spotify for the same reason. I am trying to support the non racist and non greedy options.

I am moving to self host but my libraries are old school. I listen to set playlists. I’ll miss just being able to pick a random song.

It’s a pity there isn't a decent alternative out there. Good luck with your search.

Thanks! Someday, my prince will come.

At least the library transfer apps are pretty good.

I'm pretty sure the music software wouldn't be related to the Bluetooth connection dropping.

There two issue. One with drop outs when I am out and about. That’s an app issue. It just stops. No reason.

The second is connecting to Bluetooth in the first place. I have to specify over and over where to play my music. Even then it often does not work and I have to restart the app.

When the two issues combine and your driving it’s not great.

I have used Hezel for a while now to backup and Soundiiz to transfer to Qobuz. I am not too fussed about it either if I were to lose it. It is just sad to see some megacorp going so low as to use these threathening tactics.

Qobuz is definitely not as a refined app as Apple Music. I will stick with them as they have announced some improvements to the app, and hopefully they will increase their team going forward.
