Barrio Adentro was idea of Chavez, not Maduro's, Misión Vivienda as well, Chavez couldn't complete them while alive.
The only socialist mission Maduro did was Misión CLAP, and that was and emergency because we where literally starving cuz of Maduro's incompetence dealing with the private sector and its hoarding.
Once again, Chávez would have done better...
And the USPS was an idea of Ben Franklin's it didn't disappear on his death.
Maintaining and administering socialist programs is socialism. You don't need to reinvent the wheel with every new government.
So the programs are the only thing that matters?
Okay, I admit it. The programs exist. With their ups and downs, they work, and I can say with certainty that without CLAP, my family and I would have starved to death in 2016, and without Barrio Adentro, I would have died of COVID in its day. That's one of the things that keeps me on the left despite living in Venezuela: I know the programs, the ideas, work...
But they're not enough.
Material conditions trump ideology, yes.
