We should not be penalising people for admitting when they're wrong, otherwise they'll never admit they're wrong and stick even more to their harmful beliefs. Good for them for having the courage to change their mind about something so fundamental. Hopefully now they know Trump is bad they can also consider/have conversations about some other things too.
If the the beliefs of universal social safety nets and workers rights and taxing billionaires is "abhorent to every value she has", then she is still a major piece of shit. Her realising, way too late, that Trump is a piece of shit doesn't excuse or undo any of her other vitriolic hatred, which she openly states that she still believes in. Nor should it

The fact that this woman still refuses to renounce any of her values inspite of the current direction of her party is very telling. All she probably cares about is that her family's business is currently failing. So now it affects her. Don't fall for the narcissist victim routine, she only cares that her face finally got eaten.
There were about 8 million NSDAP members at its peak. About 200 were tried at Nuremberg. Tens of thousands of other party members were simply fined or lost their bureaucratic jobs.
If they're truly sorry and see the light that they turn toward leftism with time to recover sure. This isn't that, this is a spiteful bigot who still says they'll be bigoted to the end.
