Yeah, that's how the internet is. People downvote stuff they don't like or disagree with. It makes sense to downvote bad meme but discussions make less sense I guess.
As for the main question: I think people like Reze because in the end she did return to Denji. Even if everything before was fake she came back to make it real. Also all the nice things really did happen. She really didn't have to teach him to swim or hang out at night. Even if there was an ulterior motive Denji really enjoyed their time together.
I'm conflicted about her character, she is a tragic individual that deserved some happiness in life on the other hand the sins she committed are just unforgivable.
People also downvote low-effort posts that make a statement, provide no explanation whatsoever, and then complain that others downvote them
