Germany doesn't have a draft, but all men are required to register with the government, and in a case of a future draft, that's the record that will be used.

We have a similar thing in America. I resisted it when I was told to do it in 1977, and my son expressed similar outrage when he had to do it many years later.

I just told him that the time to have the battle isn't over the registration - you are already registered with the government in numerous ways anyway, your driver's license, school records, taxes, etc. Fighting against registration is just going to get you in a lifetime of trouble that nobody else is going to support. When they actually start discussing a daft? THAT'S when you go to political war to stop them.

And BTW, if Trump manages to get the war he wants so badly, whether it's Venezuela, Mexico, etc., he WILL institute a draft, guaranteed.
