Clever way to make Russia the bad guy, or try to force them to reveal that it was about stealing resources all along.

Russian won't accept, but a good tactic all the same. Russia will most likely say it's unfair to Donbas or if they're smart, they'll accept wait a year or two, then go mine there anyway.
