Just executives milking their company for as much money as they can. They don't care for their brand. If it makes them money, they'll totally let Disney slide into an AI content slop hell scape. Ruining the reputation and quality of their product, then bounce with their severance and bonuses when stocks start to fall. Just to go off and do it all over again with another company.
What I don't get is how are they even milking their IP? They are paying OpenAi to use their IP (in exchange for equity in an unprofitable company).
I'd understand it better if Disney were getting a billion dollars.
They think they'll get to make movies without paying any writers, actors or directors and still make the same amount of money off them.
they want to use the characters in perputuity without involve the VA/ or actors.
IIRC It will be a feature within the Disney+ app. So normal Sora can’t generate disney characters but Disney’s version can.

I imagine Disney itself isn't getting the kickback here, but whomever the deal makers are. Give us a billion dollars from your company and we'll give you a cut.
