You should give SponsorBlock a try (it's available for browsers, as a feature in the YouTube ReVanced app for mobile, and SmartTubeNext for TVs).

It automatically skips every annoyance you tell it to; not just sponsored segments but like and subscribe reminders, "hey guys" intros, unnecessary fluff, outro screens, non-music parts in music videos... There's even a "skip to highlight" feature to get straight to the point.

It makes the modern YouTube experience so much better, that I flat out refuse to watch YT without it.

It's a good option for those wanting to use YouTube. In my case, I just avoid it where I can. I'm not going to fight against a content creator. If he wants to make videos for algorithm garbage it's because he doesn't respect audience like me. He doesn't have to make what I like, I don't have to watch it. It's just annoying that from time to time I fall prey to a video trough Lemmy.

I use newpipe by the way. YouTube itself is blocked on my browser. But I use it too rarely to bother with more blockers.
