Are there still federation issues with Lemmy.world? There's communities where I don't see posts from yesterday still.

I do however see new comments from lemmy.world accounts in other places, I didn't pay attention though if those communities are maybe not on lemmy.world.

you mean just searching for their URL to pull them in?

It is slightly different in PieFed compared to lemmy. On the search page there is a button labeled "Retrieve remote post" that lets you do it.

Did not know it was possible to retrieve a remote post!

Not the best option from a UX perspective, but better than nothing.
