A place to meme about the glorious ROMAN EMPIRE (and Roman Republic, and Roman Kingdom)! Byzantines tolerated! The HRE is not.

TBF literal transubstantiation is still Catholic doctrine, so the cannibalism thing isn't totally unfair. Christians also started using the cross as a symbol by the time of the mentioned Empire-wide persecutions, which can't have helped with the death cult vibes.
