Ridiculous. We need to be investing more in the fire fighting services (and all the emergency services) before we have a major disaster, not running everything down and waiting until it is too late to make effective changes like we did with Covid. Instead the government seems intent on cutting services, failing to spend money on upgrading and improving equipment and driving down the wages of workers in the sector.
