I've always felt that, if the items are all intentionally on different lines, it doesn't. It's understood to be a list at that point.

Yeah, on second thought, let's generally keep it that way.
Because I actually like the occasional funny confusion like the one here:
"Wait... Why would husbands become lesbians...??"
