I agree that this would be a false equivalence. But, the title is a form of persuasion. By saying "this was done by an evil villain" and then saying "no, this was done by who you thought to be the hero" the post can catch some liberals off-guard before a defense response kicks in and this could begin their path leftwards.
Making a defense of an authoritarian regime, as so many CCP apologists in this thread have done, is no way to begin anyone's path leftwards.
The CCP is communist in name only, not in operation.

If you genuinely believe that the CCP is not that bad, and is actually running a functionally communist government, then you are way more ignorant than you are implying that I am. You have no idea what an oppressive authoritarian regime actually looks like in practice.
