Also they inherited them from the soviet union in 1991.

With the corruption in Russia I don't think they are well maintained, I mean think about it, why maintain even some of them if they are supposedly never going to be used? It's insanely expensive and also complicated. My bet is that they are in the same shape as 16.000 pieces if cheese inherited from the soviet union.

Still even expired nuclear bombs carry a significant danger in terms of leaving nuclear pollution in the hitting site even without much of an explosion. And, if we consider that we talking about one of the shittiest countries, it can throw such pollution bombs without concerns for environment and people.

I'd disagree, even those old T-64 tanks could be cannibalised and refurbished somewhat. Try that with cheese or nukes where things had just gone old.
