I'll be updating this every week now to keep it going. I got 2 new voters from last week bringing it up to 38 overall.. I've added a Wiki Page with the top 40 now but only Piefed based users will be able to see it.

Now that is a surprising list of shows to pick for a top 10 of all times.

If i see this right those seem to be mostly Netflix series, with the exception of the 100, which in itself seems like an unusual choice. I have to say i am a bit curious how one ends up with a list like this. Especially since I can't quite see an otherwise obvious pattern.

You are definitely right about Netflix just being the subscription service i use most now. Other than that, i dont know. These were the ones coming to my mind when i thought about it on a fly. I didnt ever make a list before for favorite tv shows.

It's fascinating to see how the service choice influences things. On more niche, tech heavy parts of the internet like Lemmy it is somewhat of a rarity, as most will watch through a variety of legal and not legal sources, but i imagine this is a lot more common overall.

I didn't have a clear list before i sat down to make one a while ago either, but it was an interesting thing to do. Not sure how it was for you, but the first few series were rather easy to pick (maybe not the specific rank, but that they'd be included in the top 10), but filling the last few spots was harder.

I am also a bit suprised to not see Stranger Things, since that seems like one of the most popular Netflix shows in general. Personally only watched the first season a long time ago, but never had the itch to check out the rest.

I definitely agree on your thoughts about the list. I couldn't give you a clear cut why 6 is over 7. I just decided on "shows that came to my mind first when i liked them". Stranger things i just haven't watched yet, i am still a "young watcher" in a sense that i used to avoid streaming services until recently
