In the hopes that by keeping comms active, someday they'll be self-sustaining and I won't have to do this.
There's a block tool if you don't want to see it.
Yeah, but then I would miss content that interests me... cuz, besides what ive said, you post decent stuff im interested in. You basically are lemmy to me.... thats what I dont like. If lemmy is unable to attract/keep a base of user it just feel cheap and artificial that 1 person keeps it all moving.
Like, im constantly wonder how many of yall have other accounts and talk to yourselves. Because 100% i bet you are doing this... especially now thinking about it.
Wait.. is it just me and you here? Is every other account yours? No... its probably like a couple dozen real people, but probably mostly you.
Having conversations with myself would be an undesirable addition to my current workload.
Most places online operate due to a relatively small number of 'power users'. It's just that on Reddit, the place was large enough that the power users 'overlapped' and most people who were not deeply involved in individual communities didn't notice who they were.
I wasn't a power user back on Reddit. Hell, I don't really want to be a power user here. I'd like to go back to occasionally commenting with trivia or explanations when this corner of the Fediverse gets more active.
I was sorta a power user back on MySpace. I had thousands of friends, the sweetest page graphics and music. And other plug ins. I brought in tons of content from web pages no one else knew about. Like ebaums. Wimp. And others i cant remember... Then at 19 yo in2 days everyone moved to facebook. And I gave up that world.
