This was totally impossible before AI of course. Completely impossible to do with photkshop/gimp or with out of context shots from movies or anything like that.

Don't think anyone makes the argument that it was literally impossible before AI, just that someone with 0 skills could get a believable picture in seconds/ minutes.

The "I don't like AI but someone did this and I like it" implies that it wasn't possible before AI.
