When s major political person dies lots of people feel lost and look for someone new to look to. This is just an attempt to scoop up lost souls.
People were looking to Cheney? And we want to cater to these people?

More than enough sadly, as evident by his stellar political career. We don't cater to people, every politicians jobb is to cater to as many of the people as possible. They have votes. DoiI take your meaning correctly that we should ignore political minorities (which they are not) because you deem them worthless (which their votes certainly are not)? I always thought that's more of a fascist view of things. :p
Yeah, we should exclude them from anything and everything we can until they stop being bigoted pieces of shit and supporting war criminals. If we need to compromise with people like that to win an election this country is lost.
I agree. But the lack of compromise is what got us in this situation in the first place. Democracy is about compromise, because if you don't need to compromise one of both extremes takes over there country and that does not end good for either side really. Look at the us while the "other side" wins. Can you see all the winning they are doing? Not pleasant for anyone, is it?
Okay, so which minorities don't deserve rights and which foreign kids should we let get blown to hell?
Exactly. Ask the populous, they decide. Nobody is above democracy or the law. Nobody gets to murder the Muslims or Jews. Nobody gets to murder trans people etc. Because everybody agrees murdering humans is bad.
You should watch the news sometime because your understanding of what people believe is wildly misaligned with reality.
I'm not American. I watch the actual news. Not action news at 5. ;) we still live in an actual democracy. Maybe adjust your world view a little.
