It's always annoying when roadwork signage blocks a cycle lane, but I've never seen one look like a potentially fatal risk. There's nothing in the article to show what it actually looked like. Was it just round a corner after a downhill, and in the dark?

Also, please remember to wear a helmet and use bike lights for the conditions you're in. I usually have a full beam to see the surface in front of me, and a flashing light for visibility to other road users.
