Just how much do you think she has? She's given away over a third of her net worth so far - way more than "pocket lint."
Show me the numbers, including the interest and additional income from other ventures. Or shut up because you don’t have any of this data.
You're right in that I don't have access to her personal finances (not that I'd "show" them to you even if I did), and that I'm guessing based upon the numbers last updated in Wikipedia. I still highly doubt she's got enough to make the well over $20B she's given away so far look like "pocket lint."
It's also more productive to keep much of it invested and growing so she has more to give away. She came away from the divorce with $36B, so if she'd given away all that she had at that point immediately, she'd have given away TWO thirds, and a LOT of it probably would have been less effectively used or just plain wasted due to the lack of judicious selection of how it was spent. Now she's got WAY more to give away, and can continue giving away since she grew her cash wisely. A much more effective strategy to continue being a help as time goes on rather than just putting herself in the poor house as well.
Never mind the fact there's absolutely no way she's going to be able to single-handedly make up for all the other billionaires' collective abuses. Nor should she be expected to. You'll never convince me that if you were to come into that amount of money, you would give it all away immediately, either. It'd be stupid to.
