The article uses the term "general strike" but just assumes the meaning is obvious without explanation. Is that a strike where every worker in the province is on strike? Unionized only, or ununionized too?
A general strike is when workers across multiple sectors strike in solidarity, even if they don't have specific demands for their own employers. Anyone and everyone could go on strike, but if the Alberta general strike happens, it would be organized by the unions first.
